| Wheelchairs production |
In Lao PDR, Association for Aid
and Relief, Japan (AAR JAPAN) was implementing production and wheel chair
provision
project through development partnership program with JICA. Before AAR JAPAN started
this project, the productivity of wheelchairs was quite limited, so that many
of the Person With Disabilities (PWD) in Lao PDR
To promote social participation of PWD, the wheelchair workshop manufactures and
provides quality wheelcharis fitted to each PWD. |

Production of wheelchairs has dramatically increased in the
past three years, from only a few to over thirty a month. There are estimated
over 50 thousand PWD in Laos and demand for wheelchairs is high. |
